I am Jorge Alonso…

…I was born in Georgia and raised predominantly in The South.  My folks are Cuban and came to the US around 1960 to escape the Castro regime.  As the oldest of 3 I’m pretty much the “typical” oldest sibling.  My family still resides in Alabama as I have moved around from Miami to California a few times since graduating from Auburn University.  I currently work for a medical device company but enjoy writing as a hobby, along with a myriad of other things (first born syndrome I guess).

If my high school English teacher could see me now she would probably have a heart attack.  Jorge Alonso, who probably never wrote his own book report, but rather just rephrased the inside summary of the book jacket and even wished they made Cliff Notes for Cliff’s Notes, is actually writing by choice.  The fact of the matter is, that I have always had a fairly random mind.  I have always come up with cockamamie ideas and philosophies but it wasn’t until recently that I was able to mold and polish those thoughts and convert them into somewhat eloquent text.  How do ya like me now Mrs. Sykes?  Thank you for my appreciation of Agamemnon and Odysseus…I know you have probably heard this a million times before but it is now that I wish I would have paid more attention in class and had not been checking out Amy Rosato putting on her lip liner in the class across the hall.

Welcome to my new home where all my random thoughts can soar.  So come on in…read and post away.

Amy Rosato now works at Moutain High Outfitters in Moutain Brook across from Whole Foods. I didn’t notice any lip liner.

    Hi Jorge!!!
Love your blog!! I wanna read your next article! For sure there’s a lot of crazy things happening these days you can write about, you know the holydays screws with peoples mind, and then you have songs like: “All I want fro Christmas is you”, “Las Christmas I gave u my heart…this year I’ll give it to someone special”, “Me voy a regular en esta navidad un carino nuevo” and the list goes on, and on… Really! What is up what that?!
    Xoxo Jorge
