Castro…Our next Healthcare Consultant?

“One of the brightest leaders I’ve ever met.”  Really, Diane?  I guess you are not too far off.  I’m sure Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin and Mao Zedong were also extremely bright leaders, but I’m pretty sure we don’t want to put many of their policies in place here either.  Yeah, I heard that Hitler made the trains run on time.

And when Che and CASTRO took the money from the “rich,” the middle class, the working class  and everyone in-between who do you think ended up with the country’s wealth?  Hey Di, why don’t you ask Fidel how much he’s worth?  Or where he gets his suits made?  Ask him what job opportunities are like in his country?  How much rice the Cuban citizens get rationed per month?  Ask the Cuban people when was the last time they had a steak or a lobster?  I’m sure it was on your menu during your visit.

Maybe he comes across as a great leader because he’s been in power for FIFTY YEARS.  And, unlike you, he doesn’t need democratic elections to stay there.

On the bright side, my Cuban people (in Cuba of course) have an extremely low rate of obesity…only some government officials might be on the plumper side.  Yes they have free healthcare, but I wonder what the wait time is to get a MRI on one of Cuba’s 2 machines…there are more MRI machines on Wilshire Avenue between 15th and 26th.

Diane, next time you mention how great Cuba’s healthcare system is, why don’t you ask yourself why roughly 4,000 Cubans a year risk thier lives crossing the Florida Straits in makeshift rafts?  I guess the Cuban healthcare system isn’t worth staying for.
